B.A.R.F.  FIELD DAY 2011 SETS 5 NEW RECORDS !

Records were set for number of contacts 855, points 1019 (not including any bonus points), with our 2 multiplier and 600 bonus, total points to ARRL were 2638. Number of CW contacts 164. Number of contacts on 40 meters 656. Number of contacts for station #3 were 186 this was due to a great effort by N8STY, W8REJ, K8VY and the 15 Meter Antenna which AA4R put together. Total number hours worked this year 231 was also a record. We had a total of 27 visitors this year.

There was a wonderful family cookout Saturday evening and did not get rained on. A big thanks to KC8PCQ & W8TVC for providing the main course, desert and all the trimmings again this year and the use of their trailer for one of the operating positions.

Thanks to AA4R  for launching wires in the sky. AA4R, WB4PHC & KG8CW were pounding the keys which helped our total points as CW counts two times as much as SSB.  The ACE communicators of course were AA4R and KG8CW on 40 meters where we had a total of 656 CW & SSB contacts. Thanks to KG8ZA for his ladder and grill, to KD8BXJ & W8TVC for their operating trailers and to shutterbug KC8PCQ for the Pix. To Gene Mayo (EMC)  for providing the Mobile Command Center for our number one operating position. To the Sheriff Rory Heckman and  Bill Sholten the Undersheriff for their visit. We are fortunate to have this great support from the Sheriff's department which also provides us with a nice radio room for our ARES/RACES emergency communications.

Attached is operator and visiting Ham list. Attached also a 10 year history of our Field Days put together by AA4R.

THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART IN THIS YEARS FIELD DAY !
