Memories of Lois KA8OOW & Frank WB8DUX

Years have passed since I first met Lois & Frank.

Lois was a secretary at my first school.  She gave me a lot of encouragement during those early years.  Not only with how to cope with parents but how to deal with the boss.  She helped to keep my sanity and kept me on track to follow my chosen career.

Over the years we have stayed close friends.  She spent many years as a volunteer for DARA.  Among her duties with DARA was being a co chair and later chairperson for the DARA Booth at HamVention.  For several years I served with her as co chairman at the Booth.  We had many good times meeting hams from literally all over the world at the booth.  Her humor and sincerity gained many friends for DARA.

Frank encouraged me to overcome my mic fright!  He forced me to talk on the radio.  He helped me to become a ham.
